Friends

This spring has been full of fun trips to the museum, zoo, music class and birthday parties.  Here are some pics of Lia and her friends Julian and Kate and one of Lia and Daddy in the garden.

Mom

My mom came for a quick visit last month.  We had so much fun together.  She helped me set up the baby's room, hanging pictures and sorting through baby clothes.  She helped me identify some mystery plants in the garden.  We explored the neighborhood a bit.  Her and Lia had so much fun together having tea parties, reading books, painting toenails, and just being girly and giggly!  It was a fast but wonderful visit.  Happy Mother's Day, Mom.  I wish we could be together this weekend! 

Happy Spring!

Spring is here.  Grass is growing, flowers are blossoming, trees are turning green!  I love it.  Spring is my favorite season.  I am especially enjoying this one because as everything flourishes and comes to life around me, I am growing too!  My belly is expanding as my new baby is growing.  I am at 24 weeks already.  I feel so good and full of energy (not how things started for this pregnancy).  Baby is 1 1/2 pounds by now.  I can feel him move and kick every day.  It is happening so fast.  We are pulling all our baby stuff out of storage.  The baby's room is looking like a, well, baby's room!  Lia is very excited and talks about the baby all the time.  She asks if I'm eating good food for the baby.  She asks if I need to rest for the baby.  She talks about the baby in her tummy and how she is taking good care of her (ummm)!  She likes the idea of being a big sister.  She likes the idea of teaching the baby how to do things like talk and eat.  So sweet.
Lia is growing and thriving too.  She loves school and her friends.  She loves to learn and approaches new projects and situations with interest and enthusiasm.  She is very independent and loves to 'do it herself'!  She is giving up her afternoon nap (arg).  She talks all the time.  She laughs all the time.
She says some pretty cute things now.  Scissors are 'cutters'.  Oatmeal is 'opameal'.  Potato is 'tabobo'.  When she is ready to eat she says her 'tummy is hungry'.  Burgers are 'boogers'. 
Paul and Lia have a lot of fun together.  They go for bike rides.  She helps him in the garage.  He races her around the backyard in the wheelbarrel.  They enjoy storytime.  Tickling Daddy might be one of the funnest things ever.
We are enjoying our family.  Enjoying our new house.  Enjoying spring.  And we are looking forward to the new changes that are coming up.  We hope you are all doing well too!

Visit

My sister and her husband recently came for a visit.  We had a birthday to celebrate and there was a little girl to spoil rotten.  Unfortunately, Paul was out of town for work for most of that time but we managed to have some fun.  It was so great just spending time with you and seeing Lia enjoy her Aunt and Uncle so much.  Thanks for the awesome visit.  It went by way too fast and we are already wishing the 'next time' was here!  Lia loves her Aunt Chelle and Uncle Pete so much.  She talks about you guys every day!

We were so happy to make a visit to our cousin's house and meet the new addition to their family.  It was great to see everyone.  Lia really enjoyed playing with her cousins.  I'll post a video of the girls soon.
